Joe Blades and Corey Brown will be artists in residence Sept. 10-16[, 2005 in the Fredericton Arts Alliance casemate in Barrack's Square, Queen St, Fredericton, NB].
Blades will be writing poetry and possibly other creative writings on a manual, non-electric typewriter, and will also make hand-bound books. Last year . . . [poems written during a 2003 residency] were published as Casemate Poems by Widows and Orphans of Waterloo.
Brown is an artist known for her stained glass kaleidoscopes, but is also moving into more multimedia techniques for visual pieces that incorporate metal, glass, organic matter and fibre.
The Casemates are open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 12-5 p.m. on Sundays. All are welcome and there is no charge for admission. Donations are gratefully accepted.
