Džo in Slovenia
All rooms in this hostel are named after a local legend. My room is "Dog-Eating Catfish". Yesterday, I was challenged to write a poem about this legendary catfish in a nearby lake where catfish the size of me are caught. Something of the Legend is below.
A Celje pedestrian street with flower "tree" that I like. In the farmers' produce market they are still selling pansies in bloom and the sell locally-grown lettuce year-round.
I love this building corner turret.
Some pieces of Roman ruins unearthed in Celje.
Student-made poster for my presentation yesterday at gimnazija v Celju.
This evening, 13 Oct 2015, at 7 pm, I appear at The Living Room in Maribor to meet with University of Maribor graduate students and professors to discuss writing poetry, to read some of my poems, and to drink a pivo or two.
Tomorrow, I will be back in Celje for an 8 pm reading with two Slovene poets at MC-Celje.
Thursday afternoon, I read and discuss my poetry at the University of Ljubljana ...

Just received a $2,000 cheque for a jury-approved Career Development: Arts by Invitation grant for my "Poetry readings in SE Europe" tour last month. Thanks, artsnb! Big relief for my credit card. I heartily acknowledge their support of my arts practice.
